Jackie + John | Midland, Michigan Wedding

Jackie and John.  The whole day, I kept thinking about a certain other Jackie and John.  Yep, the Kennedys.  I’m sure they hear that a lot.  I couldn’t help it, even though I try hard not to preconceive what a given wedding will be like.  I was totally anticipating a very timeless, classy event… a day that would be as gorgeous as it would be memorable.  Goodness, was I right!  Terry and I were both hired to cover their wedding in Midland, at the H Hotel.  What an incredible venue!  We were in photographer’s heaven.  Everything was perfect… the colors (classic black, white and red), the flowers (roses), the clean lines of the H Hotel… the details (candles hung from birch centerpieces, more roses), buffet food stations, a Red Wings groom’s cake complete with hockey stick (!)… I could continue, but I’ll let the slideshow do the talking.  I should also mention the gorgeous bride and cooly handsome groom.  I’m not sure if “cooly handsome” is correct grammar, but I can’t think of another way to describe John.  He just exudes coolness.  I barely caught a smile all day, but when I did, it was stellar.  Just the right amount of rare smile from him.  He also kept his sunglasses close by, which, as any hip groom knows, is imperative during your debut as husband. ;)  And Jackie…  stunning comes to mind.  I thought she was gorgous before she donned her dress, but then… wow.  In that dress she looked incredible.  Watch for John’s emotion as he sees her coming down the aisle- I had a hard time shooting it for fear of crying myself.  Actually, there wasn’t really anyone who wasn’t tearful by the end of their big day.  It was classicly beautiful and full of emotion.  And we loved every second of it. :)

Without further delay, the slideshow… please allow a few minutes for it to load.  And below you’ll find their question and answer.  Leave them some love in the comments section!

Melissa W - I have known the Filan’s most of my life, and when John walked into J’s to get his tuxes (which is where is work) I was so excited. And I was there the day Jackie’s dress came in, again I was so excited for them. Now to see these picture or better yet – works of art, I am brought to tears to see the emotion and excitement in their eyes that you captured – Congratulations John And Jackie and may God Bless you both for many years to come
